Hi there

I'm considering buying a VBox Lite to use for track days. The package for sale includes suction mounts but nothing to secure the actual unit.

Considering most TDOs don't allow cameras to be fixed with suction mounts i was wondering what people use to secure cameras and the unit itself from flying about.

Cheers
Simon

Hi Simon and welcome to the Racelogic forum.

Not all TDOs are quite so daft when it comes to suction mounts. Goldtrack (who we know well - indeed they have their own VVB) are happy with suction mounts as long as they're only being used to hold bullet cameras.

The alternative is roll cage mounts if your car has a cage.

In terms of the box itself - it is very light so dual-lock is your friend :) I use a much heavier Pro in my bike and it doesn't move a millimetre with that stuff. In fact it's hard to remove it :D

Hi,
I guess it depends on what car you have. If its a more regular road car then pop it in the glove box and bobs your uncle.
If you have an Elise/caterham etc then the velcro is the way forwards. Ben Elliott velcros his inside a Tupperware container and puts Velcro on the base of the box as well. It also means it gets good protection from rain and excess cable slack can be bundled into the box.

For clamping onto a roll/harness bar then you can't go wrong with the wonderful Manfrotto Superclamp, less than £20 and money well spent on a quality bit of kit.
