Bar graphs shouldn't be limited to solid colors. They should be able to use a background/foreground image and uncover the background image as as the values increase/decrease. This feature would facilitate the use of non-rectangual slider gauges that use color gradients, etc.

Hi PencilGeek,

Interesting thought, I will put it forward in the next engineering meeting as a feature discussion.

With foresight, I can imagine that this feature will not be put forward in the near future at least, as the work required to re-develop both the firmware and software would be too much for something that is not in demand.

You can create a work-around gradient bar graph using display ranges. If you create a series of staged static images, you can use these to display more and more of your desired image as the chosen parameter (i.e. throttle) increases.

Obviously, if you do this, the more parts you use in the display range, the less steppy it will be.

Display ranges would be too bulky, especially if I wanted it for a temperature gauge, etc.

Glad I put in the request...hope to see it in the future.
