It appears that the CAN signals are brought out on the OBD connector of the M3. Has anyone had tried to tap in on the OBD CAN+ and CAN- signals?
Thanks,
Martin.

The CAN signals do not appear on the OBD port. You need to tap the CAN bus under the passenger glove box. The video link I just sent you in your other thread shows a bunch of CAN bus stuff:
Steering,
Brakes,
Gas,
RPM,
I even put in the DSC light.

Thanks for the tip and the post of the video on the other thread. Do you have instructions for tapping into the CAN bus inside the glove box?
Thanks

Here's a link where you can look this up on the Racelogic web site. Look for BMW 3-Series 2005+ (same as E92 M3).

In a nutshell, you don't want to do this inside the glove box -- it's far too tight. Instead, take off the kick shield below the passenger glove box with a torx driver. You will see a bundled connector into a junction box. Remove the junction box connector and find the red/blue +red twisted pair of wires. Red/blue is CAN-HIGH and red is CAN-LOW.

Thanks,
To tap in do I just strip of some of the insulation and connect the CAN-HIGH and CAN-LOW wires from the VBox?

I connected a female DB9 connector to the car's CAN bus signals. Then I modified the vbox cable to have the male end of the DB9. I've got a few different CAN bus analyzers and they all use male DB9 connectors to pins 2 & 7, so using a female DB9 made the most sense for me.
