I would like to share the scenes I have created with everyone. What's the easiest way to do it/maintain it? Has anyone got a suggestion for a place we (members) can go to and upload the scenes we create? Perhaps we can do it here on the forum? Mike, any ideas?
Cheers,
Ziad

I've enabled the uploading of scenes up to 2mb - you can choose the attachment type when you create a post
Example attached.

Hello everyone,
I'll be using post to share with you the scenes that I create. Updates will be done on this post. I'm not yet 100% how I'll manage it, but I'll try to make it easy for anyone that comes in to follow what scenes I've posted and be able to grab the latest version of any scene.
So I'm going to start with the scene that I currently use. Based on the Night dials but changed it to black&white for better quality video, I've created a scene for my Porsche. The unique thing about this scene is the use of that Math channel for two functions:
1) Calculating what gear I'm in. I was unable to get the data from the car's ECU, so I managed to calculate it by working out the ratio between speed and rpm. This ratio indicates what gear you're in. To get the ratios for your car, you need to calculate them. I will later on post an excel sheet that helps you calculate those ratios. Stay tuned. The scene has the ratios for the Porsche Cayman S Mk1.
2) Reversing the Long G figures. On the G-circle, I like the see the red dot go "south" when I accelerate and "north" when I brake. By default, it's the opposite. To do this, I've created a math channel which multiplies the Long G by -1.
Comments & feedback welcomed.
Enjoy!
Ziad

Mike, you need to put a burn on this!
I received an e-mail from Lucie suggesting such an online "bank" was being established, but perhaps you could accelerate the construction and accumulation of content, both in PAL and (more importantly for the burgeoning NA market) NTSC! It would help us all. Thanks, in advance.

Hi :D
Currently we don't have any gauges for this specific car - I have attached a scene with a Lexus gauge which may be useful...?
Let me know if this is any good

Great thanks. Looks good. This is the one I saw on YouTube that VBOXUSA did...?

The Lexus IS is the only one of our drift cars that is running the stock motor with OBD-2. Our other cars have either a Ford 5.0 or Chevy LS-1 with no CAN data. I will use the Micro Input Module on those cars in the future, but I would like to keep track of the steering angle, RPM, and E-Brake through the OBD.
I was hoping to use the scene that is in the link above for the IS, but the CAN database does not have the IS listed.
How do I go about getting the scene in the above link and the CAN data for the IS?

Hi there,
Currently, we do not hold any CAN data for this particular vehicle. :( As we do not have access to the car, the only way for us to help you with getting this file would be if you created a raw CAN data log from the vehicle and then sent it to us for decrypting....:D
If this is something that may be helpful then please send an email to support@racelogic.co.uk and I will send you everything you need to do this.

Hi there
I have tried to send the Audi scenes to you over 5 times, using different attachment extentions ETC and just keep getting rejection messages *BOOM*
I think your firewall maybe blocking the attachments. :(
Do you have another email address we can try?

There are blank gauges available in the default lists in the software which you can add text elements with numbers to to show as you require. Just make sure to set the correct min and max values in the gauge properties!

Hi! Im new to this forum and was wondering if there is any way to separate the "pre-made" gauges (say scene has 3 gauges, but I want to use one) in the scenes that can be downloaded from Racelogic scene support page. Especially interested if separate gauges for the GTR scene are available?

Hello and welcome to the forum :)
These gauge backgrounds are static images, so to edit them, you need to export the element file, extract the image and then edit it using an image manipulation software (e.g. photoshop).
7-Zip is a good free software utility which can be used to extract image files from exported gauge elements.
I have done this on the GTR gauge and there are two options attached, one gauge without boost and one without boost and gear.
Getting the other two smaller gauges on their own would be much harder - as we only have the png image file, the areas hidden by the main gauge have effectively been deleted...
Hope this is helpful!

Thank you for a warm welcome! And WOW for the quick help! I newer thought that 7-Zip can actually do this? Tried and got a *.png file, so will open it in Photoshop and see what I can do with it. Thanks!

Is there a way to resize the gauges in the scene? I can not find a way, just importing and moving around....
Lucie

Excellent, I'm pleased this was useful :D
Gauge background images cannot be resized once loaded into VVB Setup software, as they are dynamic elements...
If you need to change the sizes, there is the option to load the PNG files of both gauge and then needle, into Photoshop and simply save out as a smaller image.
You can then create a new gauge with the two new images

Hello to all,
I have difficulties logging CAN data from a Nissan GTR.
The provided downloadable scene provides manually editable CAN channels for
Throttle, Brake, Boost RPM and Gear. But in the car I was only able to get RPM. (That is good, because I know that my setup is working)
Other channels are silent...
I used also Racelogic downloadable CAN DB file with even more channels, but none of them worked.
Does anyone here has a proper running GTR scene or knows the CAN addresses of respective sensors?
This is a LHD GTR but it shouldn't be any difference?

Hi Rally Logic,
I have responded via email to your support inquiry however for the purposes of others who may have a similar issue.
If you are receiving one CAN channel it is showing that you have the correct setup to receive CAN from your vehicle.
Then if the others are not working it is likely the unit you are using only has one CAN channel enabled.
To check this swap RPM for another signal then this should work but RPM no longer works.
If you require more CAN channels please contact Racelogic for details of upgrades.
Regards
Ryan

I was able to sort things out and now everything works just fine. All channels from default GTR scene and also from DB file. It was my error in the end. As I have more than one VVbox Lite by mistake I used a box with 1 CAN channel. When I connected the 4 CAN Ch VVbox it worked at first try.
I include updated GTR scene. It is fully redrawn and each clock can be moved + it is 75% transparent.
Enjoy!

Hi there, does anyone have/know how to build a scene for MINI that includes steering angle and brake&throttle readings?
Lucie

Hello Adam,
Using our vehicle CAN database
http://www.velocitybox.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=45:can-database&catid=14&Itemid=6
You can check if we have a database file for your vehicle. In this case, the Mini shares many of its CAN ID's with BMW vehicles.
When you have downloaded the correct file and selected the correct channels you wish you log, you can then assign elements such as bar graphs or gauges.
If you send an email to support@racelogic.co.uk, then I can send you an example Mini scene that we have here. This is using the lastest ID's for BMW, so depending on the age of the Mini, the CAN connection may not work. Also - how are you connecting the VVB to the Mini's CAN system?

We are using CAN Cable RLVBCAB15 tied in as described behind the rev. counter. I'll send a separate email with requirements for a scene, thank you

Did you ever upload this scene? I am keen to include the same feature to show what gear I'm in for my Boxster racing car - Cayman and Boxster are so close, I am hoping I can use your calculations etc - If you are willing to share that is?
