View Full Version : Poor aliasing

I have set up a new scene on my VBOX Lite and wanted to use the new colour scheme of my car which is white and orange. I set up a white background and added a track map and text in orange. It looks fine in the Setup program, but on a recording the fonts and graphics are corrupted in what looks like a problem with aliasing. Other fonts in the scene appear fine, but elements with this colour scheme look very poor. I would welcome an advice on this, please:

Hi Nigel and welcome to the RL forum :)
Here's what my colleagues in development have just said to me:
"The considered opinion of the brain trust is that it's just too damned small to do much in the way of anti-aliasing. If the size were to be increased a touch it may get better. Equally, adding some transparency to the simple shape behind may mask the effect somewhat."
In my experience some colours mix and record well and some really don't. Funnily enough orange often works very well because it stands out against blue or white sky and grey tarmac. I'd advise trying a bigger outline, or different colours.
There is only so much resolution that can be recreated by the Video VBOX when it's actually recording, so making things simpler and bolder works best. Have a look at the graphics in this scene from last year - they're very clear:

Can you send me the scene file you are using? I think I may have a fix for this as I spotted the same thing recently.
