When I connected my VBox Lite this weekend it didn't start up as usual. The Power led turns on but the status, gps and record leds only flashes one time, and after this nothing happends, no sounds or anything from the box. Has something happend to the hardware?

This sounds strange:confused: - the first thing I would want to check is the power source. Please ensure the unit is getting 12V reliably. :)

I would also try a firmware re-flash in the unit in case the internal settings have become corrupt for some reason. Download the latest firmware file for your unit and put it on the root directory of an SD card (not in any subsequent folder like media). When the unit is fully powered insert the card into the front panel. You should see the status LED flash to indicate the upgrade is taking place.:D

Please note that the firmware re-flash will replace the scene in the unit with a standard scene.

If you find that the unit is not accepting the firmware, and you are sure the unit is receiving a good 12V power supply then please contact us for more help at support@racelogic.co.uk.

I had similar problem, the issue was power supply, it was running on around 10v when i checked with a voltage meter.

Some condition that is a cause from insufficient power supply: -

1) Press the record button it just makes a long "bip" and no actual recording.

2) The camera are wired up, and the output from the camera is "fuzzy". With 2 camera, one of the camera might work fine and the other do not, making you think it's a camera problem, but it's actually power issue.

Lucie, is there anyway the make an clear indication that it's a power issue, like if the voltage is below 11V then the unit don't power up. It's quite confusing when the power light is on and the unit don't record or have other symptoms.

Good suggestion but how practical it is in terms of hardware is difficult to say. I'll ask relevant people.

Hi Dylan,

What voltage input is your VVB receiving? It needs 12V to run correctly, show all camera feeds and log data. :D

How is the box behaving? How is it powered?

Hi,

I tried using both car-charger point and the external Batt pack by racelogic.

when power on, it only show the yellow light once and no more respond, no sound no red or green light indicator...

Hi Dylan,

If the box isn't powering up properly either with a battery or car charger, and you cant log any data, then it sounds like there may have been a hardware fault. :(

Please send the serial number of the unit through to us at support@racelogic.co.uk and we will look at getting the unit back for further investigation .
