    Default Donnington Park image...

I was messing on Google and created this image of Donnington Park. It's a jpg file and has a size of 4205 x 1941 x 72dpi.

It took about 20 screen shots and then I was able to stitch them together using PS. I don't know if it will be of any use, but hey, I was bored.

Yeah, it's great. But it I find it slightly disturbing that England, not Wales or Scotland, has been done in such hi-res. Look at the borders - why does it stop just there? I think it's a bit odd...

I'd guess at the fact it's to do with flight restrictions and local laws however I'm going to presume they've something to hide...

Definitely one of the best tracks in the UK, so flowing and lots of character.

It's going to be a REAL shame if they mess it up with the F1 moving there for 2010. There's no way they can keep the current layout, it's too short a lap for an F1 car.

Call me cynical, but if they manage to get Donington up to F1 standard by 2010 I'll eat my crash helmet.

I love Donington - for bikes, but this thing with the GP is ludicrous - they've got a half-baked plan to get it up to spec, and the infrastructure around it is shocking It's bad enough getting out of there on a BIKE after the MotoGP, let alone 90,000 people in cars.

I was hoping that Ecclestone's helicopter would crash in my back garden yesterday, but no such luck.

I'm 100% with you there Mike, as they said on pitpass, Donington have bought the rights to promote the British gp from 2010, it doesn't mean it's going to be at Donny (look at what happens with Brands Hatch in 1999!)

Slightly off topic but I just bought a bike, a Triumph Daytona 675

Indeed - here's hoping. Of course, I am a bit biased towards Silverstone, living only a couple of miles away, but let's be honest: even if the BRDC are a bunch of stuffed shirts who couldn't organise themselves out of a paper bag, Silverstone is still far and away the best circuit in Britain and the only one suitable for F1.

Niiice - I'd like a go on one of those, I hear very good things about them...

They're amazing bikes that's for sure.

One question, this lovely image, how does one get it lined up with the circuit overlay and your laps? I've got as far as getting my 2 best laps on different tyres onto a compare sheet (by the way, why can't you save compare runs?) and the .cir loaded but i can't work out a nice way of getting them overlayed onto this brilliant picture.

You can load it as a background image but the aspect ratio and sizes are all wrong.
