    Default Videobox software issue

    Hi,

Using the excellent Video Vbox I came along this question from several users.

Would it be possible to make markers on the track map for start/stop and splits?
Just some dots/lines or something that is read from the splitfile and displayed on the track map.

    Thanks
    Ralf

    Default

This is possible. When I went drag racing earlier in the year this is the .kml I produced in Google Earth to use as a circuit overlay on the Video VBOX:

You can see that I have added sections that extend out from the track outline to show the 60', 330', 1/8mile, 1000' and 1/4mile. This worked really well on the overlay, and gave an immediate indication that a friend of mine was lifting before the 1/4 mile because he had misjudged where the finish line was.

    Default Looks great

    Steve,

    Just what I need.

One problem is that Google earth is not that great on Swedish tracks and roads. Resolution makes it hard to do accurate track maps. We have most circuit files done with Driftbox and stored on our forum. Almost everyone in Sweden with a Dbox/Pbox and now Videobox use the same track and split files.
Makes it easier to compare laps and runs.

I checked the files that the software use when drawing tracks and it's "easy" to manually add more points in the .cfg file. Not very practical and make room for tons of other problems. I tried and I know now.

A great solution would be if the software, when I add a split file, adds the markers (small line across the track). Maybe make it selectable if you want or not. Maybe a thicker for start/stop or some other line type. Just like your strip.
Probably easer to stick with the same colour and that really don't matter.

It would be great and hopefully I will see it in a near release.

    Thanks
    Ralf
