Yup - arctan of lateral accelration. The formula to use in a maths channel is:

    atan('G8')*(180/pi)

But bear in mind that, given this is based purely on latacc, it will differ according to riding style.

For instance, my pal Chris (with whom I do my trackdays, and who designs our scene graphics) hangs off like a loon whereas I tend to stay more seated. We are just about identical in ability (ie: not a lot ) but as a result of our differing styles his lean angle is actually less than mine...

Great. Thanks. I will give it a try.

Do you have any videos of the math channel attached to an element? The drift angle element under the default gauges in the software would look cool flipped upside down. Instead of drift angle, lean angle. Can Chris do that?

I have a 170 degree camera mounted on the tail section facing the rider.

Nice video! Love the drifting... mental

Certainly Chris could do you a lean angle gauge. I've been meaning to set up a graphic of a bike though, and have a transparent gauge with the bike as a needle...

    Hi,

I have flipped the drift gauge over so you can use this as a lean angle gauge - there are no numbers on it, you can add text elements around it in VVBSetup as desired.

I have looked everywhere on our systems and cant find any sample footage I have seen a customers video using the maths channel before though, and it worked well

    I hope this is helpful

    Just noticed this

The flipped gauge should work well but Chris could certainly make something more sophisticated ....

Also spotted an error in the needle setup of the lean angle gauge I just attached

    Here is a corrected one

Great, Thanks. I will give it a try. I will send you the video when I get it done.

    Question

Ok. I finally had a day to get this over to you...

When I lean left, the arrow goes right. When I lean right, the arrow goes left.

I attached the scene with the math channel used and a link to the video...

Hi - I have had a look at this and thought of two ways to invert the signal

    1. Changed the needle direction from Clockwise to Anticlockwise
    2. Added 'x-1' onto the end of the lean angle maths channel.

These should both work the same, let me know if you get a chance to test

    Cool

Thank you very much. It worked great either way.

The Video VBOX software kept telling me my max could not be less than my min or something like that... I knew it would be easy.

I'm looking forward to trying it out at the track instead of the parking lot.

Any luck with the new elements? I'd love to try them out.

Yes, we have a new scene for this season, and it includes a lean angle graphic. Once I've put it together we'll publish it on the site. Are you picking up RPM and throttle as well?

Really pleased to hear that these both worked

Yes, I have done RPM and throttle in the shop. Both have tested well. I hope to have the Micro Input Module permanently mounted mid season.
