Vbox with micro input module and OBD2

Hi,

I was looking around and it says that you can only use a OBD2 connection or a micro input module at one time.

I was wondering if it would be possible to use the CAN Low and CAN High on the green connector in conjuction with an OBD2 connector (with wires stripped to connect CAN L and CAN H only). Or do the connection pre micro input module by stripping the cable and joining it then.

As I understand CAN protocol there shouldn't be a problem with this kind of setup as CAN messages do not interfere with each other. I think the problem might be on software or hardware on the micro on the VBox.

We strongly recommend that the equipment is not connected in this way.

While it may be true that the specific CAN messages do not interfere with each other - if the receiving vehicle CAN devices see unknown CAN messages super imposed onto its CAN bus, it can cause the dashboard of the vehicle to see faults which could potentially cause multiple problems with the vehicle.:(
