The VBOX range of GPS data loggers is based on a survey grade GPS engine
which gives an extremely accurate velocity measurement (see about
GPS).
Since launch we have sold over 2000 GPS logging systems to vehicle
manufacturers, tyre companies, magazines and race teams (see customer
list) making the VBOX the highest selling GPS based test equipment
available today.
The VBOXIII sets new standards
of accuracy with a velocity accuracy of 0.1kmh, and a braking distance
accuracy of less than 5cm. We are the number one choice for speed measurement,
speed testing and GPS logging systems in the world. We have a range of
digital speed sensors and GPS dataloggers.
We have the most comprehensive and easy to use software available for
speed measurement equipment, developed by our team of in-house engineers
over the last seven years.
With this software you can quickly and easily
measure Accleration, Braking distances, Laptimes, Peak and Average
G-force, Circuit Position, Coastdown tests and many more.
The VBOX can be used to measure
a number of different parameters of a vehicle's performance, both straight
line acceleration/ braking and cornering.
Complicated tests can be set
up in a number of minutes, using comprehensive templates, and to trigger
at a certain point on a test track, you can define a "virtual"
gate which is referenced using the GPS.
Data logging has never been so straightforward, thanks to ease of set up which
does not require the use of external apparatus such as fifth wheels or optical
sensors.

The VBOX can measure the following parameters without the need for any other
sensors:
- Velocity
- Distance
- Time
- Position
- Heading
- Height
- Lateral acceleration
- Longitudinal acceleration
- Vertical velocity
- Radius of turn
- Circuit position
- Track layout
- Lap time
- Coastdown calculations
Multi-antenna GPS Loggers in the VBOX range can also measure the following
parameters without the need for any other sensors:
- Slip angle
- Pitch angle
- Roll angle
- Yaw rate
- Lateral velocity
There are a number of external modules which connect via CAN to the VBOX and
allow many other parameters to be logged, and there is a range of displays for in car use.
The VBOX can be used to display results in real time via a serial connection
to a laptop computer or the data can be logged to memory (removable
Compact Flash or SD), and then analysed in post processing. |
